About Ollie
Ollie Chugg is a singer-songwriter, composer, and producer who synthesises genres and sounds from all corners of the globe to create his unique sonic palette. Having grown up in South-East Asia, Ollie's music often features a fusion of differing musical practices and styles. With various aliases straddling different genres, Ollie’s current focus is his solo project, titled ‘Late For Work’, which synthesises a blend of downtempo and funky rhythms. Drawing inspiration from dub, and jazz, Ollie’s approach to composition combines live recording with a sampled-based production style resulting in a moody, dark, sonic landscape, topped with tongue in cheek lyrics which provide a social commentary on the world Ollie sees. With the aim to release in 2026, Ollie is working on constructing a live show to carry this music to an audience that combines playing with other mucisians and manipulating the stems live to add atmosphere. Another project which Ollie is focussed on is his DJ duo ’SKIDM’, which he and fellow producer ‘3SCAPE’ created in 2025. Their original jungle music has been played at venues such as ’Strongroom’ in Shoreditch, London. SKIDM combines the two producers love of the genre and culture with their own indivudal flair, resulting in a set of outrageous drum chops and SERIOUSLY heavy bass! Ollie has also released his own solo dance music under the name, ‘The Jollie Plugg’, which is accessable on Soundcloud (see link tree). Ollie also produces music for other artists and enjoys working closely with singers and solo musicians. Allowing artist’s own vision to shine through whilst having a ‘Chugg’ stamp is something which Ollie strives to achieve and feels he thrives in collaborative settings.
Alongside his solo projects, Ollie has made music for a plethora of different projects; commissioned by large businesses such as 'TUl' and 'P&O ferries’, as well as having made the soundtracks to 22 short films, and 12 plays. A client who commissioned his work described his sound as 'dark and cute all at the same time', demonstrating his versatility as a composer and reinforcing his strong, consistent musical identity. Ollie's music has been played in many venues across the country including The National Theatre, London.
Looking forward, Ollie envisions a successful solo career composing and performing as an independent artist. He hopes that people will listen to his music and feel deeply connected to his own colourful and emotive world, as well as use it as a lens for better understanding themselves. Alongside this, he aims to continue with free-lance commission work for theatre, film and corporate businesses. In October 2026, ‘WYRMVALE’, a feature length fantasy film, will premier and go on to be shown in film festivals, which Ollie has composed an original soundtrack. This marks his debut as a feature film composer. The soundtrack draws inspiration folk and troubadour music with a unique twist, emphasising the style of the movie as well as Ollie’s own sonic pallette. While he may have his fingers in many pies, he hopes that people one day will be able to listen to a piece of music and recognise it as a ‘Chugg original’ as he continues to develop his own artistic voice.
